RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Position in Surgical Trauma Stepdown unit on 5th floor
• Patient ratio 1:4 (maximum 1:5 for stepdown)
• 25-bed unit with 44 FTE staff members
• May float to stepdown service lines including Progressive Care Unit and Heart and Vascular Unit
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH
• Trauma/Orthopedic experience preferred
• Meditech EMR system experience preferred
• No on-call requirements
• Care for patients requiring acute surgical intervention or post-operative care
• Handle various patient types including trauma surgery, bariatric surgery, vascular surgery, traumatic brain injury, general surgery, and orthopedic surgery patients
• Manage patients with neurological diagnoses including CVA, TIA, seizures, and meningitis
• Provide care for cardiac patients including chest pain, CHF, sepsis, and alcohol withdrawal
• Monitor patients on various IV drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardene, Dopamine, and Nitroglycerin
• Perform vital signs every 4 hours with telemetry monitoring and Q4 patient assessments
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and ability to work as a team player in adaptable environment
