Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Springfield, Illinois 62769
• Unit: Medical/Surgical Unit 4
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Start Date: December 22, 2025
• End Date: March 22, 2026
• Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 - $1,980 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required
• At least 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (up to 2 attempts permitted)
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient care skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress in accordance with Illinois healthcare standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians
• Educate patients and families on health management, discharge planning, and post-hospital care
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards
