Key qualifications include excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced hospital settings. Candidates must hold current board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology, have valid medical licensure in California, and possess minimal recent obstetric hospitalist experience. Prior exposure to diverse patient populations and ability to adapt to various clinical environments will be advantageous.
Preferred skills include proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), experience in high-acuity obstétrical environments, and ability to collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams. Although not mandatory, familiarity with telemedicine, advanced certification in obstetrics, or previous locum tenens experience will be viewed positively.
The ideal candidate will have a medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution, with at least 2 years of obstetric hospitalist experience preferred. Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required, along with a valid California medical license.
Additional requirements include availability to work weekends, participation in a robust support network from our dedicated team at VHS, and compliance with all licensure, certification, and travel reimbursement guidelines as applicable. Candidates must also successfully complete necessary credentialing processes prior to assignment.
