RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float within scope to meet facility needs and between like units/sister facilities
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• South Carolina license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH preferred
• Telemetry competency required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Epic charting system
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including diabetes, hypertension, CAD, seizures, CVA, TIA, and chronic renal disease
• Skills include cardiac telemetry, blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, and wound care
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)

This acute care hospital is a 286-bed Level III trauma center that provides comprehensive medical services to the community. The facility features modern Epic charting systems and offers interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. The medical surgical telemetry unit has 43 beds with a daily census of 36 patients, providing a dynamic environment for experienced nurses to advance their skills.
