We're currently seeking a Medical Practitioner to join our amazing team.
Details of the Medical Practitioner opening:
- Anticipated start date: ASAP
- Salary Range: $100/hour
- Anticipated duration of assignment: As needed

Daily Range of Responsibilities of the Medical Practitioner:
- Responsible for patient care that includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of medical illnesses for adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatient population.
- Serves as medical consultant to the attending psychiatrist/practitioner.
- Completes admission medical assessments (including history and physical examinations, mental status examination) and entering admission orders.
- Orders diagnostic/therapeutic tests and procedures.
- Monitors patients' progress, including laboratory values and special procedures with appropriate follow-up or referrals as needed.
- Consults with authorized representatives/legal guardians on patient medical status.
- Collaborates with attending psychiatric practitioner if needed providing DSM-5 Diagnoses that are valid, complete, and supported by timely and appropriate assessment.
- Provides coverage to the medical clinic, the admission suit to ensure the admission process is completed.
- Prescribes medications at the lowest effective dose in accordance with rational clinical practices. Assesses and address medication side-effects and report adverse drug reactions.
- Ensures timely and quality documentation (admissions, follow-up and annual, etc.) in patient records in accordance with policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and guidelines.
Qualifications for the Medical Practitioner:
- 3+ more years as a Physician/Practitioner, preferred
- Experience working with in-patient (preferred) adult admissions or geriatric admissions and acute and chronic health management of adult, forensic and geriatric populations.
- Comfortable working on admissions work up and potential rapid turnover
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary treatment team
- BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required
