The Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images for medical procedures. They work under the supervision of radiologists and maintain professional relationships with patients and healthcare staff. The role requires completion of an accredited ultrasound program and eligibility for professional certification within two years.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates ultrasound equipment in order to produce high quality diagnostic images for procedures. Performs assigned duties promptly and efficiently. Complies with instructions from the immediate supervisor and/or radiologist in charge. Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and University Health employees, patients, doctors and guests. Promotes the UH guest program.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Successful completion of an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent is preferred. One-year ultrasound experience is preferred. Must be eligible to acquire the ARDMS or Ultrasound Registry (ARRT-S) with registry acquisition within two years.
