Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric RN with ND or compact licensure, PICU experience, and the ability to work night shifts in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Pediatric Inpatient Unit and PICU of an acute care hospital
- Pediatric patient population, including both PICU and general pediatric floor assignments
- Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 in PICU, and 1:3 or 1:4 on the general pediatric floor
- Unit has 17 beds
- Requires ability to manage cases such as continuous nebs, BiPAP use, and DKA on insulin drips
- Uses Epic EMR; prior experience preferred
- 12-hour night shifts (1830-0700) with every other weekend and holiday required
- Floating required to NICU for grower/feeder assignments, OB for support, and 1:1 observation house-wide as needed
- Daily duties include caring for pediatric patients in both intensive and general care settings
- Travelers receive several orientation shifts before independent practice
- Navy blue scrubs required; child-friendly colorful scrub tops allowed
- Holiday coverage required according to the schedule
- Must badge in and out at facility each shift
- Local candidates with permanent addresses within 80 miles are not accepted for this assignment
Requirements
- Active ND or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent pediatric RN experience
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Ability to provide care in both PICU and general pediatrics unit
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Must disclose if previously employed with Sanford Health; at least 6 months separation required before eligibility
