Oncology Physician Covington, Louisiana
Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to join our expanding multi-disciplinary team in Covington, Louisiana. This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive cancer care within a leading clinical oncology program renowned for innovation, research, and patient-centered services.
Position Overview:
- Location: Covington, Louisiana
- Practice Type: Full-time, hospital-based with outpatient and consultative responsibilities
- Schedule: Flexible scheduling options with a shared weekly call rotation among regional physicians
- Affiliation: Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center, a partner of MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and the only such partnership in Louisiana
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert medical oncology and benign hematology care to adult patients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, radiation oncologists, and supportive care specialists
- Manage and participate in inpatient consultations and outpatient clinics
- Support and contribute to ongoing clinical research, trials, and educational activities
- Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record platform to ensure efficient, coordinated patient care
- Support hospital-based chemotherapy infusion, advanced imaging, and integrative oncology services
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree with valid state medical license
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
- Proven expertise or interest in benign hematology and clinical research
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
