We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens role in central Michigan. This position offers a flexible schedule with competitive pay and a robust support team in a high-volume emergency department. Position Details: Location: Near Louis, MI Duration: November 2024 - March 2025 Compensation: with additional pay for holidays and overtime Shift Structure: Weekdays (Mon-Fri): 6am-4pm, 10am-8pm, 12pm-10pm, 4pm-2am, and 8pm-6am Weekends (Sat-Sun): 6am-4pm, 10am-8pm, 4pm-2am, and 8pm-6am Job Highlights: Patient Volume: Handle approximately 110 patients per day in a 42-bed emergency department with an annual ED volume of 40,000 visits Support Staff: Full nursing support and 12 hours of daily Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage, ensuring efficient patient care Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner Trauma Level: Level III trauma center Additional Care Features: Fast Track within the ED, staffed by APPs, handling approximately 15% of the total ED volume Required Qualifications: Board Certification: ABEM or AOBEM required; Board Eligible not accepted Licensing: Active Michigan medical license required at time of application Certifications: BLS certification Experience: Must be skilled in emergency procedures such as: Suturing minor lacerations, handling non-displaced fractures, ventilation management, and management of acute volume/BP issues Additional skills in central and arterial line placements, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, and emergency psychiatric care Additional Role Details: Supervision: Responsible for supervising APPs and residents as needed Admissions: Hospitalists handle admission orders; ED staff do not respond to house codes Credentialing: Fast-track credentialing available for candidates with a clean background Expenses: Car, fuel, and mileage reimbursement available, along with a hotel allowance Clock-In System: Providers will use an electronic clock-in system; timesheets are not required Compensation Structure: Orientation: Paid at half of the standard hourly rate Holiday Pay: 1.5x hourly rate Overtime: 1.5x hourly rate for applicable hours Application Requirements: Required Documents: Up-to-date CV, including recent locums history, malpractice background, and availability Additional Information: NPI or license number, and at least one reference (if available) If you are a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician ready to step into a locum role near Louis, MI, with a strong support team and competitive pay, apply now with Job ID #j-255786.
