Pay Rate: $21.00
The Campus Security Officer helps ensure a safe, welcoming, and orderly environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This role involves maintaining a visible presence on campus, responding to safety concerns, enforcing school policies, and supporting the overall mission and values of the school community.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, and grounds.
Maintain a high level of visibility to deter unsafe or unauthorized behavior.
Monitor access to campus facilities; ensure that doors, gates, and alarms are properly secured.
Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, or safety concerns and follow established protocols.
Provide support during school events, including traffic direction, visitor assistance, and crowd management.
Document incidents, observations, and actions taken through clear and timely written reports.
Build positive, respectful relationships with students, faculty, and staff, acting as a supportive and approachable presence.
Assist with emergency drills (fire, lockdown, evacuation) and help maintain safety equipment.
Collaborate with administration and outside agencies when needed.
Uphold the school’s mission, values, confidentiality expectations, and community standards.
Qualifications
Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in emergencies.
Basic first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and work in varying weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and background check clearance required.
