Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring a VA or compact RN license, with EPIC experience and a dysrhythmia exam.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a 14-bed Medical ICU at a Level III trauma center
- Patient population includes stroke, STEMI, sepsis, ESRD, DKA, and COPD cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:2-3
- Uses Alaris pumps, Phillips bedside monitors, LifePak Defibs, Artic Sun, and Prismaflex equipment
- Conscious sedation and high acuity care required
- Work schedule is 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation
- Floating requirements not specified
- Navy blue or white scrubs required
- EPIC EMR used; experience required
- Responsibilities include caring for critically ill, high-acuity patients and performing conscious sedation
- May use advanced life-support technologies and hemodynamic monitoring
- Team follows evidence-based practices and interdisciplinary care collaboration
- Participation in holiday and every other weekend rotation is required
- Candidates must wear navy blue or white scrubs as part of the dress code
- Pass/fail EKG testing must be completed on the first day, with study guides provided
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Copy of nursing diploma required
- Must pass a dysrhythmia (EKG) exam on the first day, with two attempts allowed
- EPIC charting experience required
- Local candidates living within a 50-mile radius are not accepted
