Job Description:

PCU RN needed for 4th Floor East Wing in an acute care setting. The unit has a 55-bed capacity, and the nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. Required to provide care for adult patients and occasionally pediatric patients aged 15 and older. Responsibilities include managing CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and weakness cases, utilizing PCA pumps for pain management, and administering medications such as cardizem and insulin. Must be proficient in telemetry.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide acute patient care on a 55-bed PCU unit.
  • Manage patient diagnoses such as CVA, TIA, and other conditions.
  • Administer medications including PCA pumps, cardizem, and insulin.
  • Participate in hourly rounding and ensure patient responsiveness.

Requirements:

  • Active RN license with at least 3 years of PCU experience.
  • Certified in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
  • Proficiency in EPIC EMR and telemetry monitoring.
  • Compliance with unit policies such as the fingernail policy and exam requirements.
