This locum tenens position requires a board-certified pediatric critical care physician to provide coverage in a 24-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Arizona. The role involves managing a diverse patient population including trauma, burns, surgery, and neuro cases while performing critical procedures such as intubation and central line placements. The position demands availability for both day and night shifts between June and September 2023 and requires relevant certifications and an active Arizona medical license.
Coverage Needed June 15, 2023 " September 30, 2023 Schedule Day Shift: 7:30am - 6pm Night Shift: 6pm - 7:30am Clinical Details 24 Beds in PICU Typically 16 in use 2-3 Admissions Per Day 8-18 ICU Patients Per Day Level II Trauma Co-manage all patients in the PICU including trauma, burns, surgery, CT-surgery, ETC. etc. Procedures: intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube placement, ECMO Mixed PICU with cardiac, trauma, burn (few), BMT, neuro/neurosurg, Heme/Onc and general peds type patients Requirements Board Certified in Pediatric Critical Care BLS and PALS Fellowship Required Active AZ license or IMLC LOQ in hand Support Staff Peds ED Team EMR Cerner
