Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN with a DC license and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Cath Lab at a short-term acute care, teaching facility
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1
• Day shifts, 4x10 hours (7:00 to 17:30), 40 hours weekly
• Patient population includes those undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Experience with Cerner charting system is required
• Scrubs are provided for this unit
• Parking is available for a fee
• Primary responsibilities include assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures and managing patient care throughout the process
• Pre-employment modules are required and completed prior to and during orientation
• First-time travelers with qualifying experience are accepted
• No RTO is approved for holidays and no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of assignment
• Time off requests should not exceed 7 days for the 13-week contract
• Nurses who were previously employed with this health system must have a minimum 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Applicants living within a 60-mile radius are considered local
• Manager interview may not occur as part of the hiring process

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required at time of consideration
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required
• A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Cath Lab, Interventional Vascular Lab, or Interventional Radiology is required
• Skills in central line insertion and management, starting IVs, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions, procedural sedation monitoring, ventilator monitoring, and PA lines required
• BSN is preferred
