Overview:

Part time 36 hours/week | 7:00pm - 7:00pm variable days of the week

 

The monitor support tech functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse serving the unit in distinct roles according to assignment. In a priority role, the monitor support tech is responsible for monitoring and interpreting patients' heart rhythms and rate by utilizing telemetry recordings. The monitor support tech may also function as a support tech. These responsibilities include serving as a mobility assistant and working with the registered nurse to optimize patient mobility using specialized patient lifting equipment. Additionally, the monitor support tech may serve as the unit desk support managing the nurse call system needs, answering telephones, stocking supplies/equipment, filing, and ensuring a clean and uncluttered environment of care. The monitor support tech provides nursing support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

 

High School graduate or equivalent, college degree preferred; demonstrated computer experience; demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated excellence in public contact skills (respect for others, courteous, tactfulness); demonstrated ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and display initiative; dependability, ability to accept direction and interact with others as a team member essential; strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently; demonstrated understanding of medical terminology. Previous clerical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
