- Seeking a dynamic leader for the role of Network Chief of Emergency and Trauma Services
- This position provides oversight of emergency medicine at six locations and convenient care at two locations in rural, upstate New York
- Emergency medicine visits total approximately 82,500 annually, with the highest volume at the level 3 trauma center
- A staff of 25 employed physicians and 23 advanced Practice Clinicians provide coverage for the network s six emergency departments, which have a combined bed capacity of 70 system-wide
Job Responsibilities
The Department Chief will report to the Associate Chief Clinical Officer and will have opportunities grow and advance Emergency Medicine through the following responsibilities:
- Providing visionary leadership to the Emergency Medicine department by fostering a culture of excellence in clinical care, education, and research. This responsibility entails creating a departmental structure designed meet the needs of specific locations and scope of service for the entire system.
- Ensuring consistent standards across all emergency medicine groups and convenient care locations through quality improvement initiatives to measure and enhance patient safety, throughput, and outcomes.
- Overseeing staffing levels, workflows, and clinical activity to ensure safe, appropriate, and timely patient care.
- Leading critical interdisciplinary collaborations with nursing, care coordination, critical care, hospital medicine, trauma, stroke, and other key stakeholders.
