Chef / General Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry (general manager, executive chef, assistant manager, or similar roles)
- Demonstrated ability to drive financial results and elevate guest experiences in a busy restaurant environment
- Strong operational skills, including P&L management, scheduling, and inventory
- Self-starter and collaborative leader, visible and approachable in the restaurant and community
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred
Chef / General Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Previous experience working in or building community partnerships
- Passion for blending tradition with creative, guest-focused innovation
- Strong communication and team-building skills
Chef / General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee all restaurant operations, including staffing, inventory management, budgeting, menu, and financial performance
- Hire, train, and motivate a diverse, high-performing team, fostering a positive, inclusive culture
- Ensure an outstanding guest experience through consistently high standards for food, service, and hospitality
- Drive sales growth and profitability through creative promotions and community engagement
- Maintain a visible, hands-on presence on the floor and participate in local events to build the restaurant’s reputation
- Lead by example, embracing change and continuous improvement while ensuring health, safety, and regulatory compliance
