Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting safety for both patients and employees.
Responsibilities- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Develop individualized care plans based on comprehensive assessment data.
- Provide timely and accurate patient information during team conferences.
- Engage in all aspects of direct patient care using the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Maintain a safe work environment adhering to hospital policies.
- Participate in team-building activities to enhance unit function.
- Assume charge responsibilities and lead nursing staff as required.
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
- ICU/Critical Care experience is highly desired.
