Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Lafayette, Indiana (zip 47905)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical & General Surgery Unit (AC6)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 2/10/2026 – End: 5/12/2026)
• Nursing Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (06:00 – 18:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• First Time Travel Nurses: Accepted

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required prior to start date)
• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• ACLS and BCLS certifications required
• Proficiency in telemetry nursing and IV start/maintenance
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Ability to float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
• Two supervisor references required
• Out-of-state candidates only (locals not accepted for this unit)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with medical and surgical diagnoses (COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, chest pain, small bowel obstruction, post-surgical cases, etc.)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
• Start and maintain IVs, administer medications, and perform routine patient assessments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Document patient care using Cerner electronic charting system
• Float to other nursing units or affiliate hospitals as required
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled
