Job Summary and Qualifications

The Med/Surg Ortho Nurse Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department.The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.

What you will do in this role:

• Help create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes. Ensures adherence to standards of care.

• Work cohesively to develop standards and procedures for providing and improving quality patient care.

• Make recommendations and changes to policies using evidence-based research.

• Promote strong working relations with other departments in the facility.

• Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

• Utilize therapeutic communication in daily practice.

• Participate in performance improvement activities toassurecontinuous quality improvement.Followspatient safety standards.

• Promote good public relations for the department and TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital whilemaintainingpatient/customer confidentiality and satisfaction.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Kentucky or compact staterequired

• Associate's Degree in Nursingrequired;Bachelor's Degree in Nursingpreferred

• 5 years of acute care nursing care experience preferred

• 3-5 years of Charge RN or equivalent experience preferred

• Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within90 daysof hire

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire
