The Senior Associate, Middle Office at BNY Mellon oversees quality control, workflow management, and complex transaction analysis within the middle office team. We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate to join our Middle Office team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA (4 days in office expectation).
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Oversee quality control of processing, work allocation, and workflow of a Middle Office team and outsourced functions in accordance with SLD.
- Review and approve work conducted by more junior levels in accordance with function policies and procedures.
- Perform analysis and research on the most complex transactions and identify solutions to complex inquiries.
- Serve as subject matter expert, conducting research to gather information on the most complex, multi-faceted transactions and provide answers to complex inquiries escalated by lower levels.
- Facilitate maintenance of trade static data, trade enrichment, trade exception handling, and market claims.
- Manage the most complex reconciliations analysis (cash, asset, trade matching, and market value), break assignment, resolution of reconciliation breaks, and trade fails.
- Participate in monthly end-client statement workflow, ad hoc reporting, and incident management.
- Identify, resolve, and escalate any issues affecting the accuracy of the Investment Book of Record (IBOR) within the team.
- Provide guidance to less experienced team members and act as a subject matter expert within incident management.
- Collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to resolve reconciliations of accounts for complex or atypical transactions.
- Regularly interact with clients to answer questions and resolve multifaceted inquiries for complex transactions.
- Contribute to the achievement of team objectives.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-7 years of total relevant work experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex transactions.
- Experience in trade static data maintenance, reconciliation processes, and incident management.
- Ability to provide guidance and support to less experienced team members.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with stakeholders.
- No direct people leadership responsibilities.
