Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring CVICU and NextStage CVVH machine experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Cardio Thoracic ICU of a hospital
- Care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries, heart/lung transplants, and use of medical devices
- Acuity adaptable unit with mixed surgical and transplant patient population
- Requires experience using the NextStage CVVH machine
- Three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating day (7:00–19:30) and night (19:00–7:30) schedules
- Every other weekend and some holiday shifts are required
- Travelers are first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations as needed
- No call required
- Responsibilities include specialized care for patients requiring cardiac and thoracic surgery, transplants, and technological support
- Work as a collaborative member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery and Transplant team
- Travelers may float to different units or locations within the organization based on needs
- Orientation and additional training will be provided as needed
- Holiday coverage is part of the scheduling requirements
- Scrub or dress code information will be provided by the facility
- Parking onsite requires a permit, but alternative transportation options are available
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license from permanent address state
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- A minimum of two years acute care experience within the last three years
- Prior CVICU experience required
- Experience with NextStage CVVH machine is required
- Basic arrhythmia and telemetry experience required; must pass a Telemetry test before start
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the assignment location
