- Schedule: Weekend Hospital Call coverage blocks: Friday at 5:00 PM through Monday at 7:00 AM.
- Duration: Ongoing coverage is needed for the blocks listed from January through June. Candidates MUST be available to cover at least one open shift to be considered.
- High-Acuity Procedures: Required to perform a wide range of procedures, including:
- REQUIRED: ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography).
- PREFERRED: EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound).
- General Procedures: Colonoscopy, Upper GI Endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, banding, etc.), Liver Biopsy, Esophageal Dilatation, and Small Bowel Biopsy.
- Workload: You can expect an average of 8 procedures per weekend across GSI, Hepatology, RGA, and Surgery cases.
- Practice Setting: Hospital Call (Adult Clinical Areas). Lab & X-Ray are onsite.
- EMR: The facility uses Epic.
- Provide Hospital Call coverage for Gastroenterology from Friday evening through Monday morning.
- Respond to and perform emergent procedures (approx. 8 per weekend) including required ERCPs.
- Manage acute patient consultations and inpatient needs over the weekend.
- Board Status: Board Certified is REQUIRED.
- Procedural Skills: ERCP proficiency is REQUIRED; EUS proficiency is Preferred.
- Licensure: An active Virginia (VA) license is REQUIRED.
- Malpractice: Must have a clean malpractice history for temporary privileges and confirm $2.6M coverage (Virginia's current minimum requirement).
- Certifications: Active Flu shot is REQUIRED. COVID Vaccine is highly preferred.
- Credentialing: Estimated timeframe is 90 days.
