This is an RN Labor & Delivery/Postpartum (Mother-Baby) role with a clinical prescreen and auto-offer, meaning qualified candidates can be offered quickly after review.
Key Policies & Requirements- Fingernail Policy:
Artificial nails are not allowed in any patient-care area. Refusal to remove them will result in termination of the contract. - Radius Rule:
Candidates must live at least 50 miles away from the facility.
Candidates cannot be currently employed (FT, PT, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-associated facility (including CHI or Dignity). - Driver’s License:
A valid driver’s license is required at submission and will be used to verify the 50-mile radius.
- RNs must take a Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation.
- The exam is open book and based on skills learned during orientation.
- A minimum score of 90% is required to pass; failure results in contract termination.

- Postpartum (Mom-Baby Couplets): 1:3
- Labor: Mostly 1:1, depending on case acuity
- No specific years of experience required
- Must be comfortable with:
- Labor & delivery
- Vaginal deliveries
- Postpartum care
- NICU experience is a plus, but not required
- Level 1 maternal care
- Primarily low-risk births
- Occasional magnesium and gestational diabetes (GDM) patients
- Common drips: Insulin, Magnesium, Pitocin
- IV pumps: Alaris
- Blocked scheduling: Not guaranteed; flexibility preferred
- Charge Nurse: Present on every shift and takes an assignment
- Weekend requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- Floating: Not required (closed unit)
