This locum tenens role allows you to leverage your expertise while maintaining schedule flexibility. Diverse Patient Care: Experience a dynamic blend of call coverage and potential weekend shifts, ensuring timely intervention for stroke patients and other complex neurological conditions. Focus on Surgical Expertise:This role is ideal for a highly skilled neuroendovascular surgeon with the ability to perform both thrombectomies and clippings at the bedside, minimizing the need for patient transfers. Supportive Team Environment: Collaborate with a dedicated CNS during weekday business hours and access general Neurosurgery APPs for nighttime support. New consultations will be managed by the on-call Neuroendovascular Surgeon. Seamless Technology: Leverage your familiarity with EPIC, the EMR system used at the facility. Key Responsibilities: Be available 24/7 to provide phone consultations, triage stroke patients, and make timely decisions regarding intervention for patients requiring thrombectomies or other neuroendovascular procedures. Participate in weekend call shifts as needed. Manage a variable patient load during call shifts, performing both open and endovascular procedures in the interventional/cath lab. Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the EPIC EMR system. Collaborate effectively with the on-site healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications for Success: Current board certification in Neurological Surgery is mandatory. Valid medical license in the state of Colorado to practice medicine without restrictions. Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and DEA registration are required. Proven experience performing both thrombectomies and surgical clippings for stroke and other neurological conditions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues. The ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential. Comfort with both open and endovascular surgical procedures is preferred.
