Pediatric Gastroenterology Physician - Springfield, IL

A growing academic medical center in Springfield, IL is seeking a Pediatric Gastroenterology Physician to join its busy and collaborative department. This role offers a mix of clinical and academic responsibilities (80% clinical / 20% academic) across inpatient, outpatient, and outreach care.

Clinical Focus & Responsibilities:

• General pediatric gastroenterology with flexibility to develop subspecialty interests
• Procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, foreign body removal, and management of inflammatory bowel disease
• Clinic volume: 5-6 patients per half-day; 1 procedure day
• Call: 10-12 days per month, mostly remote with 30-minute response time; one weekend per month
• Outreach clinic currently serving Decatur (1-2 day per month)

Academic & Teaching Opportunities:

• Work with medical students, pediatric residents
• Research opportunities and academic rank advancement available

Team & Support:

• Collaborative interdisciplinary team including nurses, dietitians, NPs, and social workers
• Affiliated with a children's hospital
• Full patient panel from a busy service line

Candidate Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology
• Completion of a U.S.-based residency program; international graduates welcome
