Emergency Medicine Physician FT. Stockton, Texas
Pecos County Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team in Ft. Stockton, TX. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to provide quality care in a critical access hospital setting.
Position Overview:
As an Emergency Medicine Physician at Pecos County Memorial Hospital, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality emergency care in a low-volume, critical access facility. The role involves working 24-hour shifts with comprehensive support to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency medical services to patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions.
- Triage and stabilize patients efficiently, ensuring timely and effective treatment.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, including family medicine hospitalists covering OB-GYN cases (for pregnancies beyond 20 weeks), who bypass ER for pregnancy-related complaints.
- Manage emergency cases with support from on-call general surgeons; no other specialty support is routinely available.
- Document clinical encounters accurately and maintain high standards of patient care.
Qualifications:
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/ABPS) or Internal Medicine/Family Medicine with Emergency Department experience.
- Prior experience in an emergency setting is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a critical access hospital environment.
- Excellent communication and patient management skills.
- Valid medical license to practice in Texas.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Approximately 0.6 patients per hour.
- 24-hour shifts, with an on-site call room equipped with a fridge, bathroom, shower, and bed.
- Accommodation provided: hotel room available between shifts.
