Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with at least 2 years of ICU experience, current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications, and a NC or compact license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the ICU of a short-term acute care hospital with Level III Trauma and teaching status
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2-3
- Every other weekend shifts are required
- Floating within scope and to like units is required
- Epic is used for charting and previous experience is required
- On-call is not required
- Return staff policy requires a 1-year gap for rehire as a traveler
- A maximum of 2 contracts is allowed before a 6-month break is required
- Royal blue and white scrubs are required
- RTO is subject to manager approval
- First-time travelers are preferred not accepted but may be considered based on experience
- Team support available in an academic and trauma-focused environment
Requirements
- Active NC or compact state RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Must pass an EKG exam prior to starting
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- Pending licenses are not accepted
