American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with at least one year of adult emergency room experience and a VA or compact license for a busy hospital setting.
Responsibilities- Work in a 30-bed Emergency Department with 14 Fast Track beds and additional hallway beds as needed
- Serve patients of all ages with a variety of medical complaints; no trauma cases
- Typical patient census is 120-130 per day
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4
- 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and major holiday required
- Collaborative team includes MDs, ACPs, PCTs, Charge RN, RRT, phlebotomists, ED techs, and unit secretaries
- Scrub colors required: navy blue, white, or a combination of both
- Must be able to provide and coordinate emergency care for patients across the lifespan in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- Will collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team focused on quality outcomes
- Responsible for ongoing patient assessment, care planning, and evaluation
- Must adhere to core safety behaviors and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
- Pass/fail EKG testing occurs on the first day of orientation, with two attempts allowed
- First-time travelers are not specified as eligible, and local candidates are not accepted
- Active VA or compact RN license required
- Minimum one year of adult ER nursing experience required
- Experience with conscious sedation required
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI/De-escalation training required
- Must pass an EKG exam at orientation (study guide provided)
- Copy of nursing diploma or transcript required for consideration
- No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered
- Travel pairs/teams are not accepted
