RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratios: 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
• May float between PCU units or to med-surg floors
• Work with equipment including bipaps, high flow oxygen, vapotherm, alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vacs
• Documentation using Meditech system
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Must have critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, cardiac drip, insulin drip and heparin drip experience
• Peripheral IV skills required with peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Experience needed with stroke and post cardiac cath care
• Experience with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes preferred
• Perform procedures including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and troubleshooting wound vacs
• Patient experience requirements include hourly rounding on days, every 2 hour rounding on nights, AIDET communication, and maintaining communication boards
• Required uniform: Black scrubs
• Unit offers self-scheduling with 4-week schedules
