Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience and pediatric expertise for a Level II acute care setting utilizing Epic EMR.
Responsibilities
- Position is in an acute care hospital environment
- Monday through Friday schedule, 8:30am to 5pm, totaling 40 hours per week
- Occasional weekend shift required every 4-6 weeks
- Patient population may include individuals of all ages with a wide variety of diagnoses and disorders
- Pediatric experience is required
- EpicCare Inpatient EMR is used for charting; prior Epic experience is preferred
- Responsibilities include evaluating and treating clients with functional, cognitive, behavioral, and developmental impairments
- Develop therapy goals, administer occupational therapy programs, and provide client education to improve functional outcomes
- Documentation must comply with departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements
- May supervise assistants, aides, or students involved in patient care
- Orientation support provided by physical and occupational therapy colleagues
- Dress code includes grey scrubs or business casual attire
- Trauma Level II facility
- Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles are not eligible
- Disclosure required if previously employed by Sanford Health, with six-month minimum break
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of occupational therapy experience
- Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice (license required if applicable)
- Certification from the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is required
- Current BLS certification is required
- Education in accordance with state licensure standards
- Must have demonstrated experience working with pediatric patients
