Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position at a Level III high-risk facility requiring NJ or compact RN license and the ability to float between five hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Work in Labor and Delivery in a Level III high-risk hospital setting
• Float required to five hospitals within the system based on census and staffing needs
• Expected to cover High Risk Obstetric (HROB) Unit when needed
• Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Care for high-risk obstetric patients with a typical ratio of 1:6, may see higher volumes when floated
• EPIC EMR utilized; experience required
• Required to work every other weekend
• One winter holiday and one summer holiday shift required
• Block scheduling is not allowed
• L&D nurses may be required to float to related high-risk obstetric units within the system
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital
• Fit testing required prior to working on the unit; must be clean shaven
• First time travelers are accepted but not preferred
• No local rate applies for candidates living within 50 miles of the primary facility
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at application; no additional RTO allowed after submission; no RTO in first week
• Individual applications only; travel pairs are not accepted
• Completion of orientation modules is required and tracked via transcripts

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license in hand; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience within the last 12 months
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required at time of consideration
• Experience with circulating and scrubbing for C-sections required
• Must pass Dysrhythmia test on a PC within 72 hours of signing (2 attempts allowed)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required with no exemptions
• Ability to monitor telemetry in required units
• Must complete required labs within 48 hours of signing
