Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Michigan requiring MI licensure and advanced perinatal certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
- Care for antepartum, labor, delivery, postoperative, and newborn patients including couplet care
- Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 7:30
- Schedule requires working every other weekend
- Call requirement is none
- Floating required as a sitter within the facility and to nearby labor and delivery units as needed
- Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- EPIC is used for documentation
- RNs will act as circulating and scrub nurse in the OR, perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens, and provide newborn care at delivery
- No time off is permitted within the first 8 days of the contract
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Training provided for newborn hearing screens using the ALGO 5 machine
- Must float to affiliated facilities within approximately 27 miles as needed
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years recent OB, Mother/Baby, and Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and/or NCC C-EFM
- AWHONN Advanced and scrub experience preferred
- Experience with circulating, fetal heart monitoring triage, and perinatal care
- Must be willing to float as required
