Job Opportunity: Neuro-Ophthalmologist
Join our Hauenstein Neurosciences Team in Grand Rapids, Michigan! Our facility is the area's most well-established comprehensive Neuroscience Program, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a compassionate focus on healing the mind, body, and spirit. We are currently seeking a full-time Neuro-Ophthalmologist to provide exceptional care and treatment in a supportive interdisciplinary environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive Neuro-Ophthalmological evaluations for diseases affecting visual pathways and eye movement control.
- Diagnose and treat visual problems related to the nervous system.
- Address cases of unexplained or sudden vision loss.
- Conduct neuro-ophthalmologic tests, including visual acuity, visual field testing, pupillary reactivity, color perception, ocular alignment, and optical coherence tomography.
- Offer comprehensive education to patients and their families.
- Collaborate within a strong interdisciplinary model of care, including RNs, MAs, Neuro-Ophthalmology technicians, MSWs, Patient Support Coordinators, PTs, OTs, and Vestibular Rehab specialists.
- Participate in general neurology visits as your practice builds.
- Open to new graduates who are board certified within 2 years of becoming board eligible.
- Not accepting candidates with lapsed Board Certification.
- Accept H1B visa candidates; not open to J1.
- Not accepting Locums candidates.
Qualifications:
- Must be Board Eligible (board certified within 2 years) or Board Certified.
- Current and valid Michigan medical license or willingness to obtain.
- Clean malpractice record.
- DEA certification or willingness to obtain.
- BLS certification or willingness to obtain.
- Visa support need (J1 or H1B) should be noted.
Licensure and Certification Requirements:
- Board Eligible/Board Certified.
- Michigan License (or willing to obtain).
- DEA (or willing to obtain).
- BLS (or willing to obtain).
