Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Position Overview
Seeking a full-time, experienced Nurse Practitioner with a background in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management to join an advanced cardiothoracic care team. This role is patient-centered, collaborative, and highly specialized.

Not open to locums or locums-to-perm

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive perioperative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients
Assist in cardiac surgeries, including endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting as needed
Manage ICU and CV surgery patients (CVICU, floor, and clinic)
Participate in two full-day clinics weekly, with additional patient care as needed
Rotate through operating room coverage Monday-Friday
Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals
Order, interpret, and evaluate lab and diagnostic tests
Develop and implement care plans based on diagnostic outcomes
Prescribe medications per policy and regulatory guidelines
Perform bedside procedures appropriate to patient needs
Ensure timely and accurate documentation
Maintain CME to meet state/national licensing standards
Function independently under physician supervision
Adapt to high-stress, fast-paced clinical environments
Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and strong clinical judgment

Candidate Requirements

Experience: Cardiac/cardiovascular surgery + ICU patient management - Required
Licensure: Active Nurse Practitioner license in Colorado or eligibility - Required
Certification: Must meet CME and regulatory requirements
Visa Candidates: Not eligible for this role
