Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele oncology unit, requiring 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a Med/Surg Tele oncology unit
- Patient population includes individuals undergoing chemotherapy, diagnostic services, and symptom management for soft tissue malignancies
- Continuous cardiac monitoring for patients, often related to chemotherapy
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
- Uses GE B450 telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, and bladder scanner
- Both day (7:00–19:30) and night (19:00–7:30) 12-hour shifts available
- Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Responsibilities include providing specialized care to oncology patients with a focus on infection prevention and fall reduction
- Role involves management of comorbidities related to cancer and its treatment
- Orientation to specific equipment such as GE telemetry, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds will be provided
- Must adhere to institutional protocols for infection control and patient safety
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BCLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience interpreting dysrhythmias and ABGs
- Experience with arterial lines, central and PICC line management, blood product administration, and port access
- Able to start IVs and assist with chest tube insertion/removal
- Experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
