American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Main PACU position requiring ICU experience and a DC RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in the Main PACU of a hospital setting
- Care for post-operative patients in a Level I trauma center environment
- Requires ICU-level care experience; PACU experience preferred, Preop experience a plus
- 3x12 hour day shifts with various start times between 0700 and 1130
- On-call is required
- Monitor post-operative patients' recovery and consciousness from anesthesia
- Obtain and document patient vital signs and observe for anesthesia side effects
- Treat pain, nausea, and other post-op symptoms, administering medications as prescribed
- Update EMR, patient files, and medical records accurately
- Educate patients and families on post-surgery care and answer their questions
- No local candidates within 25 miles of the facility will be accepted
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Active DC RN license in hand
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a U.S. hospital required
- Recent PACU and Preop experience required; not surgicenter experience
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only)
- CPI certification mandated by position
- CPAN, TNCC, and CCRN certifications are highly desirable
- Two professional references preferred, with at least one from the most recent employer
- US Social Security Number required for consideration
