The Sr. Principal Earned Value Management Analyst supports program management by implementing and monitoring Earned Value Management Systems to analyze and report on financial and schedule performance for defense contracts. The role involves preparing detailed financial forecasts, variance analysis, and liaising between program finance and management to ensure cost control and compliance with government contract regulations. This position requires extensive experience in earned value management, financial analysis, and familiarity with FAR/DFARS regulations in the defense industry.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) sector is seeking an Sr. Principal Earned Value Management Analyst (EVM) to support the Stand-in Attack Weapon (SiAW) program within our NG Business Management organization on site in Northridge, CA.
As a EVM Analyst, they will collaborate within a team setting and operate under general guidance while supporting the Program Management Office (PMO) and Control Account Managers (CAMs) in planning, implementing, and monitoring Earned Value Management Systems processes. They will analyze data, create financial reports, address issues, report on program finances, and provide recommendations to the program management office, customers, and internal senior leadership. Acting as the liaison between program finance and the program office, the EVM Analyst will handle financial analysis matters, project financial status, and offer daily support for assigned programs, contracts, and subcontract financial affairs. Additionally, the EVM Analyst will be accountable for preparing and submitting internal and customer reports, which include EVMS metrics, variance drivers, monthly program forecasts, reviews, Estimate at Complete (EAC), Estimate To Complete (ETC), as well as internal Sales, Operating Margin (OM), Cash, and backlog forecasts.
This role will be on-site at our Northridge, CA facility and relocation assistance is also available.
Roles and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Assists with the maintenance of an Earned Value Management (EVM) baseline that interfaces with an MS Project schedule
- Works with Program Management, IPTs, CAMs, and functional business analysts to perform detailed cost/schedule planning, Earned Value variance analysis, identification of cost/schedule problems, and developing corrective action plans.
- Timely and accurate Estimate at Completion development, analysis, and reporting
- Financial reporting to include creating of AOP and monthly financial forecasts, cash flow and material forecasts, and invoiced/unbilled analysis.
- Performs financial analyses such as funding profiles, Sales & OM outlook, and variance analysis
- Interface with program and functional management to provide financial support and analysis to meet program requirements.
- Assists in preparing for internal and external audits and/or compliance reviews
Basic Qualifications: Sr. Principal Earned Value Management Analyst (Level 4):
- This position emphasizes skills and experience. Will consider one of following: Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years experience
- Understanding of program cost control, including Earned Value Management
- Financial analysis and/or reporting experience
- Knowledge of FAR/DFARS
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Skilled in preparing and analyzing data
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience with Earned Value Management and/or EVMS Software
- Experience with FAR/DFAR
- Extensive Defense Industry Experience with working knowledge of FAR/DFARS, and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
