Opportunity:
RN - PCU Float Pool
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Float to ALL PCU/Tele Units within the hospital including PCU, Overflow, Medical, and Surgical floors
• Patient ratios: PCU 1:4 (may go to 1:5), Medical/Surgical 1:5 (may go to 1:6 rarely)
• Work every other weekend with minimum of 4 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
• Holiday expectations: 1 major and 1 minor holiday
• No on-call responsibilities
• Overtime opportunities available
• 1-2 years experience required with proficiency in neuro assessments and basic cardiac drips
• Must have experience with cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin drip titration
• Required certifications: BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must have EPIC experience and prior travel experience
• Must be able to read/interpret EKG strips and pass ECG exam
• Equipment familiarity required: CPAP, high flow oxygen, EKG machines
• Navy scrubs required
• 3 shifts of orientation on 3 different units plus general facility orientation
• Care for patients with stroke r/o, chest pain, arrhythmias, post-surgical, CHF, sepsis, respiratory failure

This medical center operates multiple specialized units including a 52-bed Neuro PCU and a 52-bed Medical Surgical unit. The facility utilizes EPIC electronic health records and provides comprehensive cardiac and neurological care with offsite monitoring capabilities. The hospital maintains dedicated nursing support staff with patient care technicians and unit secretaries, emphasizing flexible staffing to meet patient care needs across multiple departments.
