Senior Accountant Requirements & Qualifications
- CPA designation or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction, restoration, or job-costing environments.
- Hands-on experience overseeing month-end close, accounts payable/receivable, and billing.
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online and strong understanding of job costing.
- Strong foundation in revenue recognition and cost-to-complete accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas
Senior Accountant Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage the full month-end close process and deliver accurate, timely financial reports.
- Prepare financial statements, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Maintain and analyze job cost reports; partner with project managers on cost accuracy and margin projections.
- Oversee accounts payable and ensure timely, accurate billing and proactive collections.
- Prepare and update rolling cash flow forecasts, optimizing project and supplier payment cycles.
- Drive improvements in financial processes, accounting controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Train project managers and staff on best practices in job costing and financial procedures.
