The Hematology/Oncology Physician provides specialized medical care in a free-standing cancer center, managing both benign hematology and malignant oncology cases. Responsibilities include participation in tumor boards, managing bone marrow transplants, ordering diagnostic tests, and prescribing chemotherapy treatments. The position requires board certification, licensure, and experience with adult and geriatric patient populations in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Practice Setting: Free-Standing Cancer Center Reason for Coverage: Loss of provider
Dates of Coverage: Pending Credentialing to perm ideally
Shift: 8:30a-4:30p
EMR: EPIC
Call Schedule: No call during locum period; call expected if placed perm; call schedule is 1 week out of every 6-8 weeks
Call Ratio: No call during locum period; call expected if placed perm; call schedule is 1 week out of every 6-8 weeks
Patient Population for Required Coverage: Adult, Geriatric What Percentage of the Practice is Hematology %, Oncology %, Internal Medicine %: 65% benign hematology, 35% malignant oncology, 0% internal medicine Number of Physicians in Practice: 7 How Many APPs Provide Coverage: 6 Average Number of Patients Per Day - OUTPATIENT: 25 Average Number of Patients Per Day - HOSPITAL (Call/Rounding): 20 Clinical Area: Oncology - Outpatient Setting, Oncology - Inpatient Setting Trauma Level/Designation (Hospital): N/A
Required Duties:
Participation on a Tumor Board, Mgmt. of Bone Marrow Transplants, Blood Bank, Orders Tests, Orders Images, Prescribes
Administration of Chemotherapy: Nurse Oncologist
Qualifications Required:
Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology - REQUIRED
Active SC license (will accept providers needing to obtain a state license) - REQUIRED
BLS - REQUIRED
DEA - REQUIRED
