The Sr. Fleet Mechanic at Primo Brands is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment, including gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and air brakes. This role involves supervising other technicians, coordinating maintenance schedules, managing parts inventory, ensuring DOT compliance, and maintaining safe shop practices. Candidates must have technical experience, ASE certification, and a valid driver's license, with proficiency in diagnostic tools and mechanical repair.

Reporting Location: Elgin, IL
Pay: $39.60/ hour
Sign on Bonus: $3,000 (payable after 90 days of successful employment)
PM Shift: Monday – Friday (Saturdays dependent on business needs)

The Sr Fleet Technician's primary purpose will require the individual to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment including gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, forklifts, tankers and trailers.
Key responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair fleet vehicles and equipment
Oversee Fleet Technicians and provide direction as assigned by Lead Technician
Help schedule and support all work within the shop
Coordinate training
Manage costs according to budget and daily completion of repairs
Ensure DOT compliance
Program and record assigned preventative maintenance tasks
Receive and process invoices for payment
Maintain parts inventory and budget
Parts and Inventory control
Maintain shop housekeeping standards and prepare end of month reporting and/or any other administrative requirements
Ensure safe work practices
Qualifications:Key Qualifications
Positive team-player attitude
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
Completed 2 years of technical education or possess 3 years of hands on experience
Must have diagnostic experience and the ability to both read and understand technical manuals and schematics
Perform additional facilities repairs
Ability to handle physical requirements including but not limited to repeated bending, stretching, twisting and lifting up to 60 pounds
Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) experience preferred
Must be experienced in diesel engine repair, hydraulic systems, drive train assemblies, suspension chassis, electrical troubleshooting and repair
Valid Driver's License
Ability to obtain CDL Class B within specified period of time
ASE certification required within specified period of time
Must possess personal tools
