We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for locum tenens coverage at an acute care hospital in Las Vegas, NV.
This role is crucial in supporting an inpatient CVT service by assisting with complex surgical procedures and managing patients throughout the perioperative continuum of care.

• Start Date: September 25, 2025
• Availability: Preferred in 2 3 month blocks to ensure continuity and familiarity with the team
• Expected Days per Month:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the inpatient management of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients, including pre-, peri-, and postoperative care
• Participate in a rotating 24-hour First Call schedule shared between two providers
• First assist in CVT surgical procedures (CABG, valve replacements, etc.)
• Round on inpatients and coordinate interdisciplinary care with the medical teams
• Consult on emergency department patients, determine diagnosis, and develop care plans
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications as appropriate
• Collaborate closely within a multidisciplinary team
• Additional duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements:

Nevada State License or NLC
BLS, ACLS
Clean malpractice history REQUIRED
First assist experience in CVT surgeries
CVT experience REQUIRED

Travel, housing, and malpractice insurance will be provided.
