This role involves evaluating, planning, and providing physical therapy treatment for patients in an acute care hospital setting, following professional standards and organizational policies. The therapist collaborates with multidisciplinary care teams, manages administrative duties, and supports patient transitions of care while providing education to patients and caregivers. The position requires licensure, flexibility in scheduling, and offers opportunities for professional development and leadership within a health care system.
- Bachelor's Degree,Master's Degree, or Doctorate Degrees from a physical therapy accredited program
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide therapy evaluation, develop individualized treatment plans, implement evidence-based interventions, provide patient/caregiver education, and discharge planning for a full patient caseload.
- Provide all ancillary/administrative requirements for a full caseload of patients, including documentation, billing, scheduling management, and other administrative duties
- Demonstratesappropriate communication,professionalismand supervision of support staff (licensed assistants, aides, volunteers)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensureoptimalclinical and financial outcomes.
- Work closely with Essentia Healthleadershipand coordinate with referring physicians to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Complywithorganizational policies and procedures andthecode of conduct
- Meet professional organization core values, code of ethics, &/or scope of practice
- Work where the patient need is highest (including flexing to other departments) when home department schedule allows
- May serve as a clinical instructor,participateindepartmentor therapy discipline committees, and complete credential/certification that wouldbenefitpatient care
Inpatient Acute Care:
- Coordinate and deliver durable medical equipment to patients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support smooth transitions of care.
- Ideal candidates willdemonstrateflexibility, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in afast-pacedenvironment.
This role will be scheduled Thursdays - Saturdays or Fridays - Sundays, generally from 8:00am - 4:30pm. Can flex and pick up additional shifts during the week if desired. Holiday rotation is required.
