Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality peri-procedural nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology and neuro thrombectomy
- Collaborate with physicians, techs and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure smooth, efficient procedures and excellent patient outcomes
- Operate and monitor hemodynamic and imaging systems (Phillips imaging, Merge Hemodynamics/CPACS) during cases
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to support continuity of care and compliance
- Respond professionally and promptly to on-call activations every other weekend and during scheduled evening coverage
- Participate in STEMI activations and rapid response workflows as part of an accredited STEMI center
- Educate patients and families about procedures, post-procedure care and discharge instructions to promote recovery and safety
- Maintain sterile technique, patient safety standards and quality improvement practices in the cath lab
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Utah (or eligible to obtain) — License to submit is allowed
- ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab / interventional nursing experience
- Comfortable with on-call responsibilities, including every-other-weekend coverage and some evenings
- Experience with EPIC charting, Phillips imaging systems and Merge Hemodynamics/CPACS is highly desirable
- Able to complete a 12-hour orientation and integrate into an acute care cath lab team
- BSN not required
