Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement every other weekend
• May be included in holiday rotation
• 48-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6-8 on nights
• Must have minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Common patient diagnoses include pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleeding, alcohol withdrawal, and falls/weakness
• Required to titrate drips including heparin, Bumex, and Lasix (no cardiac drip titration)
• Monitor telemetry patients with support from centralized monitor technicians
• May float to other medical-surgical, medical-surgical telemetry, or intermediate care units
• Two days of orientation: one day with educator/computer systems, one day with preceptor
• Use Cerner Corporation Soarian charting system
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
• Required certifications: BLS and current RN license
• Work with patient care technicians who maintain 1:10-12 patient ratios
