The position involves providing comprehensive primary care services as a Family Practice Physician at a community health center in Virginia, including physical exams, diagnostic test interpretation, treatment planning, and preventive medicine. It is a locum-to-permanent position with weekday hours and on-call responsibilities.
Medical Center is seeking Locum Family Practice physician to provide coverage starting ASAP- Monday Friday, 8:00 am- 5:00 pm- $140/hour- After hours on call required- Looking for someone who is interested in Locums to Perm- Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Family Physician provides comprehensive primary care services in the community health center.- Performs physical examinations of new and existing patients and determines x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests required.- Interprets examination findings, test results, and implements treatment plans.- Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains data through interviews.- Provides continuing, comprehensive health maintenance and medical care to the entire family unit, to include preventive medicine, behavioral sciences, and community health.- Participates in surgical, obstetrical, gynecological, and critical care procedures according to training and demonstrated ability.- Determines need for consultation and assists in medical care treatment provided at the direction of other specialists.- Instructs other healthcare providers and non-medical personnel in a variety of health-related topics, including first-aid measures, basic and advanced cardiac life support, and healthcare maintenance.- May teach residents, practitioners, and medical students.- Knowledge of the principles and practice of preventive medicine- Knowledge of the state and federal laws about medicine and community health centers.- VA license and current DEA registration required
