Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) telemetry position with cardiovascular experience and night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Progressive Care Unit within a hospital setting focused on cardiovascular patients
- Unit has 55 beds with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
- Option to work either 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekend shifts required on a rotating, as-needed basis
- Floating to other units is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses EPIC for documentation; EPIC experience preferred
- Any scrub color permitted, but uniforms must be logo-free
- Provide progressive care to adult cardiovascular patients, including continuous telemetry monitoring
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No travel pairs or groups are permitted
- Requesting time off (RTO) is limited to no more than 3 days and is not allowed during the first week of orientation
- Block scheduling may be allowed on a case-by-case basis
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CPI certification preferred
- 1 or more years of recent PCU or cardiovascular experience required, with 2 years preferred
- Experience with telemetry monitoring required
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Locals within 50 miles are not accepted
- Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least one year before being considered as a traveler
