The Neurology Physician will provide inpatient consultations, EEG interpretation, and lumbar puncture procedures in an acute care hospital, focusing on Comprehensive Stroke Center and trauma coverage. The role requires schedule flexibility, including 7-day shifts, and collaboration with nursing, radiology, and other medical teams. Candidates must hold active licensure, board certification, and DEA registration, with experience using EPIC EMR and EEG systems.
START DATE: Targeting Aug 2026 for continuity through Dec 2026
ASSIGNMENT LENGTH: On-going; prefer candidates who can commit to at least 1 week per month (Aug-Dec 2026)
SCHEDULE: 7 on / 7off Tues 7a-Tues 7a (Must be able to work this schedule at least 1 full block/month)
WORKSITE SETTING: Acute Care Hospital

LICENSURES CERTIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Active OK license or active IMLC IMLCs will need to be verified, and an LOQ is not accepted as a verification Active DEA w/OK address Board Certified Neurology OBNDD w/OK address Must read EEGs and perform lumbar punctures
EMR: EPIC (with Dragon dictation) EEG System: Natus Xlek; bedside rapid EEG available

- Two neurologists per 24-hour shift
- One takes primary call for new patients (rotates daily)
- Other manages previously seen patients
- Typical consult volume: patients/day

- Lumbar punctures
- Stroke call coverage
- ED & Trauma consults
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Administrative tasks related to patient care
- Coordination with nursing and radiology teams
Volume & Support:
- Average consult volume: patients/day
- Support from IR and Diagnostic Radiology
- No APPs; strong nursing team
