Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is effectively followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, adhering to safety policies and procedures, and providing superior quality care.
Responsibilities- Conduct a comprehensive nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish individualized care plans.
- Identify teaching needs and patient goals in collaboration with patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in weekly team conferences to provide timely patient information and status updates.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with a primary focus on patient education.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Maintain effective communication regarding patient status changes to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while effectively managing patient care priorities.
- Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
- Monitor supplies and equipment to ensure cost-effective patient care.
- Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
- BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
- ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
- Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience is highly desired
